How Does OC Pepper Spray Work?
The main active ingredient in pepper spray is a chemical called “capsaicin” which is derived from chilli peppers in a chemical process that dissolves and concentrates it into a liquid.

The symptoms that follow are profuse lachrymation (tears), coughing fits, difficulty breathing and choking. Because lachrymatory agents work on nerve receptors that help us sense heat, they also induce an intense burning sensation.
